This isn't Kidz Bop

Sponsored by the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, the search for legitimately talented young musicians from 13 to 18 who can write, sing, play and produce their own music is on.

All interested future rock stars have to submit a video or CD that properly shows of their rockin' abilities along with a letter explaining why the Take Note youth band would benefit from their participation.

When selected for a live audition, aspiring musicians will be introduced to different genres they'll be expected to perform once inducted, such as pop, rock, R&B, among others.

The experience gained as members of the Take Note youth band will prepare them for preforming on major venue stages and will put scholarships to various colleges up for grabs.

Be sure to kick out the jams by the application deadline date of 4 p.m. on Friday, September 18.

Application drop off hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Cultural Programs Section. The Ron Darner Parks and Recreation Headquarters is located at 5800 Old Highway 90 W., San Antonio, Texas
