As June is Pride month, a special time every year where we are encouraged to honor, admire and commemorate the great contributions to our arts, culture and lives that members of the LGBTQIA have made and continue to make, the San Antonio Public Library (600 Soledad) will be hosting a special concert, Rock OUT, at the Central Branch on Wednesday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Featured artists for the free event, set to take place in the branch's auditorium, include indie rapper Chris Conde, whose cerebral, spitfire delivery and work with singer Alyson Alonzo in local queer duo GHETTO PROM has made him one of the local artists to watch – he's making moves. Also featured will be trans artist Saakred, who, fresh off of a writing sabbatical in Ireland, where they wrote over 30 songs of deep, introspective indie, is poised to reclaim the title as one of the finest artists in any medium working in SA today. Closing out the bill is Pink Leche, the sire of feel-yourself booty-bass, who's sure to break every cliched rule about libraries and their desired noise level.
This show is sure to be a hit with anyone that digs raw, unadulterated talent and wigglin' it, even more than just a little bit. So, come on out and show your support for Pride month and all that the LGBTQIA community has given, and continues to give to SA, the country and the world!
