On Friday, August 26th at 8 p.m., singer-songwriter, actor, and composer Lyle Lovett and his Large Band will perform at the Majestic Theatre (224 E. Houston St.). Tickets for the event (priced from $40-$75) go on sale this Friday, June 3rd at noon. Lovett’s reputation as one of the best folk musicians working guarantees this will be a spectacular performance not to be missed.
Since 1980, Lovett has proven his excellence as a Texas-based singer-songwriter, broadening the scope of American music. The four time Grammy winner fuses a gift for storytelling with his band's talents in Americana, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues music in a style completely unique. Touring as a "Duo" an "Acoustic Group" or "The Large Band," the artist proves his incredible range of talent over and over again, emphasizing his role as one of the most riveting performers in music.
Lovett's skills have earned him a wide range of accolades, from the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award to being named Texas State Musician by the Texas Commission on the Arts.
