FaTo be quite honest, Artpace’s beautiful and scenic downtown rooftop just might be the coolest place in town to see live music. The opportunity to do so, however, comes around only sporadically, so it’s essential to jump on it when it does happen.

This weekend, at an event exclusive to members of Artpace or KRTU (Trinity University’s radio station), you’ll have such a chance. While enjoying adult refreshments from Alamo Beer and Austin Cocktails, attendees will be treated to a spellbinding performance by Aaron Prado, paying tribute to the work of jazz luminary Herbie Hancock.

Not a member yet? No problem. Now’s a fine time to support such worthy arts and culture organizations, and put your money where your mouth is, anyhow. A student membership to KRTU will run you a mere $25 while the rest of us would pay $60 (at krtu.trinity.edu/donate-krtu). Meanwhile, an Artpace membership will run you $50 ($30 for artists).

Friday, July 21, Free (for KRTU or Artpace members), 8pm, Artpace, 445 N. Main Ave., (210) 212-4900, artpace.org
