The lineup at Day for Night Festival this year in Houston has us SHOOK. Considering how sick their bills have been since the festival's start in 2015, we were curious to see if the folks behind the fest will continue to match artists like Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, or Bjork. From the looks of it, they aren't slowing down anytime soon.
Organized by Omar Afra and Kiffer Keegan who conceptualized the festival while working together at Free Press Houston, D4N, as per the website, is "both a current snapshot of popular music, as well as a showcase for trailblazers who continue to crossover from fringe to influential. The focus across multiple musical genres is on acts that specialize in an inventive and highly visual approach to performing."
This year's lineup include big name artists like Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead's Thom York, the droning post rock musings of Godspeed! You Black Emperor, and a relatively recent collaboration of electronic producer and musician Venetian Snares with guitarist/vocalist/producer/ Daniel Lanois whose produced records for the likes of Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and Peter Gabriel.
Also in this ridiculously stacked list is San Antonio's own House of Kenzo who will be performing with label-mate and founder of experimental electronic record label Halcyon Veil, Rabit.
