Continuing their curation of high-quality jazz programming, Jazz, TX will be hosting the Tamir Hendelman trio on Friday, October 13 at 8 p.m., then again at 10 p.m.
Influenced by composers like Ravel and Bill Evans, Hendelman moved from Tel Aviv to the United States in 1984 and went on to win Yamaha's national keyboard competition two years later. Since then, the artist has toured across the U.S., Japan, and Europe with his trio and as a member of the Jeff Hamilton Trio and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.
The trio cover a wide range of genres including bebop, blues, Brazilian music as well as a few originals.
“Tamir Hendleman is one of the foremost pianists of his generation, and one of my biggest musical heroes,” said Doc Watkins, owner of Jazz, TX, in a press release this afternoon. “Ever since we opened in August of 2016, I’ve been trying to book him."
Friday, October 13, $25, 8pm, 10pm, Jazz Texas, 312 Pearl Pkwy., Bldg. 6, Suite 6001. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit jazztx.com.
