Synthpop Gods Erasure Set to Take Over Tobin Center

With all the classic rock being announcements, we were bound to get an '80s electronic group in the mix.

That’s sort of what just happened. English synthpop duo Erasure just announced a North American tour with a stop in San Antonio. The twosome returns to the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, August 5, following their latest effort World Be Gone (which is incredible – I've been listening as I write this) released last May on Mute Records (Moby, Depeche Mode, New Order).

Formed in London between singer Andy Bell and keyboardist Vince Clarke, Erasure entered the music scene with 1985’s "Who Needs Love Like That." The song eventually went on to top the UK singles charts, becoming one of the most successful groups of the late 1980s and mid-'90s.

Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, January 26 at 10am and can be purchased online at, (210) 223-8624 and at the Tobin Center’s Box Office. Box Office hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday, 10am-2pm.
