Neo-traditional country meets rock ‘n’ roll meets ’60s pop in vein of the Beatles, The Texas Gentlemen out of Dallas sound like a lot of different things but manage to keep their sound cohesive and interesting throughout their entire catalog. Take the track “Pain,” from their 2017 record TX Jelly: a 12-string acoustic guitar opens the song, which dives directly into a honky-tonk swinging verse one could easily line-dance to, followed by a pre-chorus that sounds like it could’ve come off The Beatles’ White album. It’s great stuff, and if you’re looking for something new from the country/rock world that’s not commercial AF, peep The Texas Gentlemen.

Free, Fri Feb. 23, 7pm, The Rustic, 17619 La Cantera Pkwy., Suite 204, (210) 245-7500, therustic.com.
