The gods of rock ‘n’ roll have heard our cries: German hard rockers Scorpions have set a new date for San Antonio for their Crazy World tour.
In a October press release
, the German metal band said vocalist Klaus Meine had developed severe laryngitis and had been advised by a top throat specialist in Los Angeles to rest his voice.
The band continued, saying “[we] truly hate to disappoint our fans and hope to come back to America soon, but this time we have no choice [to] cancel,” as continuing the tour could inflict permanent vocal damage to Meine's throat.
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine (whose band was on tour with the Scorpions) tweeted
how grateful he was to get play some shows with the band saying “My deepest gratitude to the Scorpions for taking us on tour. Talk about a boyhood dream coming true. My best wishes and we’ll be waiting.”
Now, the only drawback is Megadeth was slated to open but unfortunately it appears that Dave Mustaine and the boys have been replaced by Queensryche for this go-round.
Both bands will be playing the Freeman Coliseum on Friday, September 7.
Tickets go on sale at 10am Friday, April 13 at ticketmaster.com, attcenter.com and 800-745-3000.
