The Last Bandoleros is a strange and wild beast. And the band, a four-piece that features brothers Diego and Emilio Navaira, sons of late Tejano legend Emilio Navaira, is having its moment.
Since the outfit’s debut in 2016, the Last Bandoleros have caught the attention of fans of country, rock and pop alike. The band’s infectious sound blends 1960s and 1990s rock ’n’ roll elements with Tex-Mex and country flourishes and pop harmonies, with the result being a singular sound that is full of energy and bravado. Rolling Stone
recently hailed the Last Bandoleros as “The Year’s Most Important New Country Band,”
owing to the group’s potential to bring some diversity to a depressingly homogenous genre. In a live setting, especially at a venue like Floore’s, the band lets loose on its wild side, rocking out with abandon and bringing home the rowdy side of each of the genres it synthesizes so successfully.
$12-15, Fri Jun 8, 9pm, Floore’s Country Store, 14492 Old Bandera Rd, Helotes, liveatfloores.com.
