If indie punk, pop-punk, post-punk, and emo happen to be your bag, this early-week show at Paper Tiger is gonna be lit.

At the top of the bill, Michigan act Citizen makes somber rock with moody melodicism and occasional vestiges of punk rock propulsion. Head on over to citizenmi.bandcamp.com to check out the band’s music.

Meanwhile, Oso Oso, from Long Beach, New York, make laid-back emo music (yes, that’s a thing) with a gently driving pop-punk rollick to it. You can dig Oso Oso’s latest songs at osoosoband.bandcamp.com.

Finally, this lineup will also feature likeminded outfits Teenage Wrist (emotive alt-rock from LA) and Queen of Jeans (hazy indie pop from Philly), the latter of which we are especially excited to catch in the live setting to see how its self-described “crockpot pop/denimcore” sound translates.

$17-$20, Mon July 9, 7pm, Paper Tiger, 2410 N. St. Mary’s St., papertigersatx.com.
