With all the classic rock acts announcing tour dates, we were bound to get an ‘80s electronic group in the mix. That’s sort of what happened.

Earlier this year, English synthpop duo Erasure announced North American tour with a stop in San Antonio. The twosome returns to the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts this Sunday, following their latest effort World Be Gone (which is incredible – I’ve been listening as I write this) released last May on Mute Records (Moby, Depeche Mode, New Order).

Formed in London between singer Andy Bell and keyboardist Vince Clarke, Erasure entered the music scene with 1985’s “Who Needs Love Like That.” The song eventually went on to top the UK singles charts, helping Erasure become one of the most successful groups of the late 1980s and mid-’90s.

$39-$79.50, Sun Aug 5, 7:30pm, The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, 100 Auditorium Circle, tobincenter.org.
