On Saturday, October 20, San Diego-based surf-punk act Wavves will bring distorted yet sunshiney California beach music to the Paper Tiger.

The project formed in 2009 by singer Nathan Williams and has since grown into a tight four piece. Their first album, King of The Beach, quickly caught the attention of Pitchfork writers and the group was subsequently shuttled into the public conversation for years to come.

Their music is like an upbeat and angsty THC-fueled long-boarding excursion down a boardwalk with only minimal sunburn. While the band still makes music to critical review, fans of Best Coast, Cloud Nothings and late '00s to early aughts indie alternative especially won’t want to miss this show.

Tickets go on sale Friday, August 17, at 10 a.m.
