Something of a post-hardcore supergroup, Sianvar features members of Dance Gavin Dance, Stolas, Hail the Sun and A Lot Like Birds. The band’s sound, as evidenced on the one LP and one EP it’s released since forming in 2016, blends prog rock with post-hardcore, math rock and experimental elements, for a sound that feels like a fresh update on the collective sound of all the bands that the members of this group hail from. With a sophomore LP in the works, fans can hope to hear Sianvar try out some new material at this show. The stacked lineup for this one also features like-minded/like-sounding acts Ghost Atlas (a group from Birmingham, Ala., that just recently dropped a swell new album All is in Sync and There’s Nothing Left to Sing About), Wolf and Bear, Marila Voe and Another Side, Another Story.

$16-$18, Sat Jan. 12, 7pm, Jack’s Patio Bar, 3030 Thousand Oaks Dr., (210) 494-2309, jacksbarsa.com.
