Artist, sculptor and sound collagist Justin Boyd was born with hyper-sensitive hearing and remembers having deep emotional reactions to singular sonic occurrences. Adapting his natural proclivities for appreciating the emotive potential of all manner of aural stimuli, Boyd crafts challenging sonic experiences using found sound. Thursday, in conjunction with his Blue Star exhibit “Going on Going” (inspired by his recent artist residency in Berlin), Boyd will perform “a short electro-acoustic piece of processed field recordings from his time in Berlin.” Free, 6-7pm Thu, Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum, 116 Blue Star, (210) 227-6960, bluestarart.org.
