The Animal Defense League of Texas, a no-kill shelter located 11300 Nacogdoches Road, has several dogs that are currently looking for a forever home. Check out the dogs that are currently available and just try saying no to adopting one of these cuties. It's basically impossible. All photos are courtesy of the Animal Defense League of Texas.

"I can sometimes be a little shy, but that won’t stop me from being a sweet girl to you! I’m friendly and I’ll make an excellent walking partner. I’m easy going on the leash and I would prefer to stay near you as we walk. I know that I will make a loyal companion to my forever person, but first, I need to find that person. Hopefully that person can be you!"

"I’m full of friendliness and fun! I’d be more than happy to go for a stroll in the park with you, but hold on tight because I sometimes forget how strong I can be. Especially if I spot a cat, it’s probably best to keep me away from those critters. I’m also a curious one, so I like to inspect my surroundings while I’m out on the grounds. I do well in a vehicle so if you want to take me for a ride, I’ll jump in with no problem. If you feed me snacks, I’ll very gently take them from your hand. I like kids so I would make a great family pet! I hope that I can find that family to take me home soon!"
Sabrina
"Don’t I look proud to have a friend next to me and happy to be getting petted? I am, but it took a lot to let down my guard so it would happen. I’m a friendly girl, but I’m new here and it’s hard not to be scared every time something new happens. I’m really looking forward to finding my forever home so I can get comfortable once and for all and just love my new family and know they love me."
Tad
"You’ve heard the expression “his bark is worse than his bite.” I’m sort of like that – except that I don’t have a bite at all, just an impressive bark for a dog my size. Oh, and a lovely smile. I get along with just about everyone – dogs, playful cats, and kids as long as they’re older than about 8. I haven’t had any experience with younger ones. I walk pretty well on the leash, but I have lots of energy and need some space to run around on my own too. I sure would like to talk with you about settling in with you. I think we could be happy together."
Kimberly
"I am an energetic and playful girl who is also a little clownish. If you adopt me, I promise to keep you amused. I’ll need some toys to amuse myself with, also. Come on, let’s go!"
Naomi
"Just look at my happy face. Doesn’t that make you smile? I’m a yellow Lab, so of course I’m happy! I’m also playful and affectionate. I’m smart too, and I already know the sit command, so I should be easy to teach whatever you want me to learn. I’m ready for my forever home where I can be the only furbaby so that I can have all the attention on me! I’ll love you, make you happy and share my life with you. I’m ready for you – are you ready for me?"
Roxi
"I want to be friends, but I’m so shy that it will take some time. See what a nice smile I have? I’m sure I’ll be a loyal friend once I get to know you. I’ve had kind of a rough time for a while. First I was a stray, and then when I got here I had such bad ringworm on my tail that it had to be amputated all the way to the very end. When I get happy enough to start wagging again, I can’t imagine what that’s going to feel like, but it’s better than the alternative, I’m sure. Please give me a chance, and I’ll be your best friend forever."
Cliff
"’m a bit on the enthusiastic side, but that’s only because I’m such a happy boy. I love everyone and everything and I love to show it. I know life is great because I’ve been with the same family my whole life, but now they are moving and they can’t take me with them. So they brought me here and promised me I’d find another great family that would love me like they did. I get along well with other dogs and kids, I’ve had training and I sit and fetch, I don’t bark a lot. I’m a good boy and I’m really excited about my new life. So, when do we start?"
Daphne
"Yes I do, no I don’t, yes I do … when you come to my kennel, I show you I want to come out and visit, but then I get shy, but I really, really want to be friends, but I’m not quite sure, but I’m tempted …. Once I take the plunge, I’m so glad, because I love people and enjoy being around them. I like children too, and small calm dogs. I think life will be so wonderful when I can live with people who love me."
Norville
"If you look in the dictionary under “puppy,” you might find a picture of me. I’m about as typical a puppy as there is. When I’m on the ground, I want to run around and play and put everything in my mouth. When you get near me, I want to jump on you and kiss you and love you and make sure you don’t leave me. I’m soft and lovable and sweet and adorable and once you meet me you won’t ever want to leave me either. At least I hope you don’t, because I want to go home and be somebody’s puppy. Please?"

"Look at these eyes of mine, can you imagine these eyes looking up at you every day to greet you? I’m a friendly and goofy girl. I’m still young, playful and have a lot of energy in me. I still walk a little puppy-like on a leash, but I’m sure within time, I’ll begin to walk wonderfully. I’m ready to begin my life with my forever person in a home where I can have fun, be active and be loved. Maybe that home can be with you? What do you think?"
Sandy Sue
"I have a very girly name, and that’s fine with me. You see, I’m a very girly dog. I’m sweet and affectionate, and I love to lean against you. I’d love to have a forever home where I can be pampered and loved and give you all the love I have inside in return. If you visit me, we can go for a walk and talk about our future together. Well, you can talk and I can listen. Doesn’t that sound nice?"
Turner
"If f you like goofy, enthusiastic dogs, you’ll love me. I’m so friendly that I just want to play with everyone and everything and I assume that they want to play just as much. My eagerness can get a bit out of hand, but you can’t help but go along because I’m having so much fun. You know I mean well, and I’ll keep you laughing. I bet you can teach me things once I settle down a bit too. I sure would love a chance to show you how much I can brighten your life. How about it?"
Naomi

"Am I a handsome boy or what? But I’m not just another pretty face. I know the sit, down and stay commands and I do them very well. When I’m not showing off my talents, you can usually find me splashing in my pool or playing with other dogs, kids or adults. I suppose you could say keeping busy is another of my skills. So is being a bit of a clown – you might have noticed I’m sticking my tongue out ever-so-subtly in my photo. Just think how much fun your life will be with me as a part of it."
