"Well hello there! I’m Howie and still fairly new around here. I’m a little timid around new places and am slowly starting to break out of my shell here. Just go slow with me and we’ll soon be pals! Why don’t you come on over to ADL to get to know me better? I would love to meet you!"
"Hello! I’m a very happy-g-lucky kind of guy that loves meeting new people and exploring the great outdoors! I’m still a rather young buck with lots and lots of energy, so I’ll need an adventure partner that would love to take me out to explore. If you have any felines at home, I know we can be friends, I’m just a little scared of them at first. All I need is time. Well, what are you waiting for let’s go explore!"
"Hi, I’m Aries! When I first came to ADL I wasn’t in the best shape. I was so skinny that you could see my bones. The hospital here checked my overall health to determine the cause of my weight loss and didn’t find anything that could be causing it. They fed me several small meals everyday and after three weeks, I gained more than 14 pounds! I’m glad that I am getting to a good weight because now I feel so energized! I enjoy going outside for walks and greeting everyone. I am a friendly and spunky boy who just wants to play. I know that my before photos are hard to look at but it shows that I’m a strong boy who is ready to put the bad past behind me. I would love to find a forever home where I can be spoiled with lots of treats and attention. I look forward to finding someone who’ll love being silly with me!"
"I’m a friendly guy – I know I am because I wag my tail when I see you – but I’m afraid to come out of my kennel right now. And when I finally get the leash on, I don’t want to walk on it because I don’t know where I’m being taken. I’m not a bad or stubborn dog though – it’s just that I’m scared. As soon as I learn that no one is going to hurt me I’ll be fine. I like being petted, and look what a nice smile I have. Before you know it, I’ll be running and playing and happy as can be. All I need is a chance."
"I follow where my nose leads me because I love smelling things. But offer me a treat and I’ll sit for it and then gobble it up, because I also love treats! Even though I was left out on the streets because I have arthritis and my owner didn’t want to deal with it, I love and trust people. Just look at my face – you can see it’s full of love. I take medicine and feel absolutely fine and frisky. We could be great friends and have a wonderful life together, so let’s get together and talk about it, OK?"
"Hi, I’m Charlotte! I may appear a little shy when we meet but only a little! Just be sure to be gentle with me and I’ll eventually warm up to you. Soon you’ll see my affectionate side come out. I’m a gentle soul with polite leash manners and love children! Let’s meet soon!"
"Hi, I’m Sabine and me and Renee are a bonded pair!

We are sisters – maybe not real sisters, but we have been together as long as we can remember – and we are looking for a new home where we can stay together. We don’t know what life is like without each other, and at our age we don’t want to find out. We find comfort in each other’s presence. A quiet home without small children would be lovely, and we promise we will be good, loving girls who will make you glad you took us in."
"I look like I have had a bit of a rough life, but the staff here has found that I am very friendly and loving. I am energetic but strong, so a strong walking or running partner would be a good match for me. I love food and treats, so that will sure help you to train me to behave how you want and make me happy in the process!"
"Hello! I am the curious Sadie! I like to check out everything going on around me. I am gentle older lady and have excellent leash walking manners. I like to relax most of the day but just because I’m a senior doesn’t mean that I don’t know how to have fun! I love playtime and being outdoors. I like to play with toys and I really enjoy splashing around in the kiddie pool! All I want is to be around people and I would especially love to be around you. Please visit me so that I can show you how wonderful I am!"
"Pleased to meet you. I am a calm and friendly girl who behaves well on a leash but also enjoys being held so I can look around. I love other dogs but I also like children and cats just fine! I personally believe I would be the best dog for you to adopt and promise I would fit into your family just fine! Come meet me soon, I don’t plan to be here long."

"I’m Lyric, that’s right the one and only Lyric. I am such a spontaneous gal that enjoys an open area where I can run and jump. You see that smile, that is the smile I will have once I get to meet you because I love to be with humans and become best pals!”
"(Sniff sniff) Hmm, I smell something that needs exploring. How about a little walk? That’s two things I do very well – walking and sniffing. The perfect combination of things to do on a nice day. The only thing that would make it better is some holding time by my favorite human. Romping with a dog pal would be nice too."

"I am a kind-hearted girl who loves to meet people and go out exploring. I love treats and will actively seek them out once I smell them or see someone holding them. But I do know how to sit nicely to receive a treat, and I am willing to learn other things to help make out life together one big happy adventure."
"Hi, I’m Colt! I’m a bashful boy with cute scraggly Benji-like hair. I’m currently looking for a special person who’ll understand that I’m a bit of a nervous guy. However, I can be playful and enjoy having fun! You’ll just need to go slow with me when we meet. I’m trying my best to build up courage and I’m sure with the right person in a loving home, my personality will blossom! If you’re willing to give me a chance at a forever home, then please come spend some quality time with me!"
"Hello hello, Maui is my name, and I got to say it is great that you’re reading about me. I am as friendly as can be and as welcoming as can be! I love hugs but then again who doesn’t love snuggly hugs. It will be the best time ever to have you come over so we can meet and get to know each other!"
"Hi, my name is Ted, and I’m a bit shy. You can probably tell from the way my ears are down. But like most of the shy dogs here, I’m probably more scared of all the new stuff around me than really shy, and as soon as I adjust I’ll relax and let my true personality shine through. More important, when I get adopted, it won’t take long for me to know I’m loved and I’m home, and I’ll be happy to be myself. Until then, I’m enjoying comfy blankets and learning leash skills. Come visit and I’ll show you."
"Hi, I’m Bernadette! Want to play? I’m always ready for playtime! I like to run around and leap for joy outside. I can be a bit of a goofball sometimes. Overall, I’m a loving little girl with a beautiful smile. I’m ready to find my forever friend who’ll enjoy living an active life with me. So if you’re looking at furry friend, please come by and meet me!"
"Hi, I’m Joel! Some of us dogs just can’t get into hanging out in our kennels because we find kennels boring! I’d much rather be outside where all the action is! Give me a chance to meet you outside and you’ll see what a happy boy I am! I walk well on a leash and will smile for you. Sometimes I’m on alert for squirrels and will scope out my surroundings. I can be charming and I love attention, especially when attention involves me receiving treats! I love treats and I learn very quickly. Once I get to know you, I might turn into a lap dog. I have to admit that I may get excitable during playtime, so it would be best that I go to a home with older children. I also get along great with dogs but I’d rather hang out with the calm ones. I’m ready to find my home soon! Please give me a chance to go on a stroll in the dog park with you!"
"I am a very shy girl but I am very sweet and loving. I also love treats and would feel much more comfortable receiving a delicious treat from you 🙂 I am a very curious girl as well and love to explore my surroundings but would love it more with you by my side!"
"Dave is the name and sit for the treat is the game. The rules are simple, you show me a treat and if I sit down then you hand me over a treat! I love the game, there’s nothing better! Hopefully, you and I can play this game and we become best pals! Better yet we become a forever family and I can have a forever home. That will be the best!"
