Seiler's Christmas Tree Farm

Drive out to Seguin and you’ll be able to hit up this farm, which features trees as short as four feet and as towering as 10 feet. With trees priced at $7 a foot (or a flat $35 below 5 feet), you’ll be able to snag even a monstrous tree without breaking the bank. Located south of Ft. Worth in Cleburne, Mainstay Farm Park is worth the road trip if you want to go all out on holiday fun. In addition to cut-your-own Christmas trees, on weekends the farm plays host to myriad activities, including visits with Mr. & Mrs. Claus, Goat Scape Mountain, the Texas Big Wheel, Farmula 1 Trike Racing, a Christmas House and more. If you want to just grab a tree and go, the farm is open for tree sales sans activities on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Mainstay Farm Park's Christmas Adventure runs from Nov. 26-Dec. 12.

The family-owned farm lets Texans take a wagon ride out to where the trees are, where they’ll then be able to cut their own Texas-grown tree — or pick a precut tree if they’d like. The cherry on top is truly all the fun activities on site — from games like hopscotch and a bean bag toss on the daily to campfires on the weekends. The farm is open daily starting the day after Thanksgiving until they sell out of trees.

It’s officially Christmas season over at Tim’s Trees. If you want to take a road trip, consider grabbing a tree from Tim’s as a solid excuse. Located in the small town of Wheelock (though Hearne, not at all a big town, is considered the closest big town), Tim’s Trees offers a selection of trees up to about eight feet tall. A majority of the trees are Virginia Pines, although there are also Leyland Cypress and Arizona Cypress. Swing by during the weekend between Friday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, December 12.
