"Hi everyone! I enjoy showing everyone my smile! I enjoy being out and about on a nice day. I love going on walks to get to know other people around me. I keep getting told that I like to act goofy which of course I do, its fun!"
"I am full of lots and lots of energy and love to play tug-a-war. I am told that I am very smart because I know sit, lay, stay, and leave it. I am a bit scared of strangers so the commands might not register as quickly but once we get to know one another and get each other’s vibes I’m sure we will be playing and jiving."

"When I first came to ADL I was an extremely cautious kitty but I’m really starting break out of my shell. I have been at ADL since March and have become familiar with the cattery. That’s why I’ve become more brave and now I actually come out to greet people! However, I’d much rather move into a home of my own where I can relax with my family. Just be sure to be gentle and slow around me when we first meet. Stick out your hand and I’ll probably start rubbing my face on your hand. Please consider giving me a chance to be your kitty friend!"
"Oldie?! Who you calling an oldie?! Okay, so I do have a graying muzzle but throughout my life I’ve learned to have outstanding manners! I know how to sit for treats and will greet you with a paw-shake. If you would like to give me belly rubs, I will gladly accept that offer. I know how to walk eloquently on the leash and not pull the other person on the other end. I am accepting of all attention from humans and get along with most dogs around here. I am a gentle and polite lady with a big heart. Will you give me a chance to show you what a good dog I am?"
"I am living proof that you can indeed teach an old – or let’s say middle-aged – dog new tricks. I’m 7, and I’m learning to be quiet. I used to be noisy, but now every time I’m told to be quiet and I am, I get a treat! What could be better than that? Well, getting a forever home would be, for sure. I’m a nice, friendly girl and would make a wonderful companion, as long as I’m an only dog."
"I think they call me Ram because I like to ram my head into people’s legs. That’s my way of requesting immediate attention from humans! I was roaming around the hospital here and they ended up taking me in. I am a friendly kitty but I tend to get grouchy around other felines. That’s why I would prefer a home where I can be the only furbaby to receive all the attention from my human! There is something special about my heart that the staff can tell you more about here. One thing I can tell you for sure is that my heart will have plenty of affection for you. Will you give me a chance to be your best feline friend? Please, say yes and let’s meet!"
"I love to smile and really enjoy treats! I feel so happy when I receive a treat, makes me feel so loved. I will even sit for a treat if you ask me to sit. I can take a bit to warm up to you because I am rather shy but once you and I start hanging, you will see all my love!"
"James is a royal name and being a mastiff means I come from royal blood. I’m very stoic and kingly unless you show me a treat. I love treats so much I unleash my goofy side to get you to give them to me. I’m possessive of my food and will guard it so it’s best I go home with a family with children 12 year and up. So if you’re looking for a king who can get down and be goofy then look no further than me!"
"Tobie could be a girl or boy name and I’m a boy. I’m not a web-slinging action hero like Tobey Maguire but I’m willing to be your friendly forever home cat. Don’t walk, don’t run…swing in to meet me!"
"I’m trying my best to not be so shy around people but can you blame me? I was found roaming a neighborhood with nowhere to go and was brought here to look for a home. I’m looking forward to the day I find that special person for me, so that I can have a nice home where I can relax with them. I’m sure within time, I’ll learn to break out of my shell and show my true self. Will you give me a chance to get to know you and be your best friend?"

"I might try to sit right in front of a person. It’s not that I’m shy, though I am just a little, especially around men. It’s that I love being close to people and leaning against them. But look at that smile – I am a happy boy. I like being out in nature, and I love treats. I sit nicely for them. I would also love getting a forever home, and I would love meeting you and convincing you that I am the right dog for you."
"Hi, I’m Bubba! I’m still fairly new around the cattery but I assure you that I am a friendly boy! They told me that I’m extra large and put me in the phat camp here so that I can lose a little weight. I really want to find my forever home soon. Please come by and meet me to get to know me better!"
"Hi, I’m Nova! From afar I may look like a black bear cub but I’m all dog. I am a gentle dog too! I prefer to take it easy in life. Due to an old injury, I came to ADL as a tripod but I know how to use my three legs well! However, I have cataracts so my vision isn’t the best and I sometimes need a little guidance when out for a walk. Overall, I am a lovable dog and would like to find a calm home where I can hang out with my human. Please consider opening your heart to an oldie and goodie like me!"
"Have I got a dog for you! That would be me, of course. I’m big, but I’ve been described as “pretty chill.” I’m good in crowds, and I love children, puppies and small dogs. And adult humans, of course. To my eternal shame, I’m afraid of big dogs. I guess I don’t recognize myself in the mirror. I’m good on the leash, and I love to go exploring. If you adopt me, I will make your life complete."
“Hello, I am Ducky! I’m not the most social cat in the cattery, in fact, I’m very shy. I prefer to hang out in high places and people-watch from above. People often pass me up all the time but I can’t help being shy. I know there’s a special person out there for me who will love me just as I am and I’m patiently waiting for that person to come into my life. Do you think it can be you?”
"Hello there! You know what I adore? Stuffed animals, chatting, and playtime! I am an enthusiastic and sociable k9 who likes to goof around. I have a dynamic personality that may be too much for some pups to handle. That’s why I would like to meet any potential fur-siblings to see how well we get along. I’m a nice guy who would fit in best with an active family with older children. If you’re looking for a fun furry friend, then give me a chance!"
"I am an affectionate and playful goofball! I like to be around people and I prefer a home where I’m the only furbaby in the family. Sometimes my attention span is a little short when I’m outside for a walk because I like to check out all the action going on at ADL. I want to find an active person that I can go on adventures with and someone who will cherish me forever!"
"Hello! I am the curious Sadie! I like to check out everything going on around me. I am gentle older lady and have excellent leash walking manners. I like to relax most of the day but just because I’m a senior doesn’t mean that I don’t know how to have fun! I love playtime and being outdoors. I like to play with toys and I really enjoy splashing around in the kiddie pool! All I want is to be around people and I would especially love to be around you. Please visit me so that I can show you how wonderful I am!"
"Hi, I’m Brutus! I am a sweet and happy boy! My hobbies include running and playing with everything! I am looking for a forever home with a yard so that I can spend time being energetic with my human. I think I might be too energetic for small children, so if kids are in the home, I would prefer to be around older children. I also request a meeting with all potential dog siblings to see how well we get along. Yes, sometimes I am picky with who my canine friends are. Hmm..let’s see….what else? Oh! I have an issue with my back, so sometimes I will need to avoid climbing stairs. Overall, I’m a fun dog to have around! Maybe I can bring fun to you home?"
"Hi, I’m Harrington! I’m like a big Benji with my scruffy coat. I will need a moment to warm up to someone because I’m a little bashful. I have to admit that I’m not into hugging. I prefer to just hang out next to my person rather than cuddle. I’ve been told that I have great leash walking manners. I’m looking for a calm home, preferably with older considerate kiddos that understand that I’m not into hugging. I hope that I can find a home soon where I can take it easy."

"I have a big smile on my face because I am very excited to have you visiting my pet profile. I would love to give you a hug but you aren’t here yet! Once you come down, we can get to know each other and take a good long trip to the park, you’ll receive my full affection. I LOVE treats and I LOVE to be able to run around and explore. I feel like we need to meet in person to know more about each other! We will become best friends!"

"Don’t you think I’m beautiful? There is so much of me to love, and I have so much love to give! I’m on a weight-loss journey, as they like to say here, but even when I reach the end of it, I won’t have lost any of that love – it will just be concentrated in a smaller package. I am full of sweetness, and hugs are my specialty. Sniffing around while on walks is lots of fun. I’m not supposed to have treats, but I will sit on command anyway. Wouldn’t it be great to help me go from full-figured to petite?"
"When you come to my kennel, I’ll happily run to the door and greet you with wags and enthusiasm, overflowing with happiness and friendliness. But when staff takes me out to meet you, you’ll hardly recognize the shy, reluctant dog at the end of the leash. I don’t remember what happened before I came here, but I’m just so scared that it takes a long time for me to trust people. I don’t have an ounce of meanness in me – I just need someone with patience to wait for me to be ready to share my love. When that time comes, I enjoy cuddling and I’m as sweet as can be. If you have the time, the rewards are great – I promise!"
"I may be somewhat nervous when we first meet. Especially here at ADL where there’s a lot of action always going on. I just need a moment to become familiar with my surroundings and with new people. I like to run outside, jump around and play with toys. I know how to sit, crawl, and love to fetch! I also smile a lot, I’ve been told I have a great smile. Come on out and give me a chance to smile for you! Let’s go for a walk in the ADL dog park away from the action and get to know each other better. What do you think? Will you give me a chance to be your best friend?"
"Some of us just need someone to let us know that everything will be okay. I’m one of those dogs. I’m a shy girl and I’m especially camera shy. I’m hoping that I can find someone who will be willing to let me warm up to them and be their buddy. Is their room in your heart for a shy sweet dog like me? I hope so! Please give me a chance to be your friend."
"Hi everyone! I enjoy showing everyone my smile! I enjoy being out and about on a nice day. I love going on walks to get to know other people around me. I keep getting told that I like to act goofy which of course I do, its fun!"
