26th Annual Tower Climb & Run

This 952-step challenge benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Lone Star Chapter can be tackled in a competitive or non-competitive fashion, either solo or as part of a team. While competitors will complete a chip-timed one-mile run around the Institute of Texan Cultures before bolting up the 58-story tower (7:30 a.m.), non-competitors will enjoy a more leisurely untimed climb 750 feet into the skyline (8 a.m.). The funds each climber raises will assist in the Lone Star Chapter’s mission to “add tomorrows every day to the lives of people living with CF,” an inherited chronic disease affecting 70,000 children and adults worldwide. Online registration is closed, but participants can still register in person from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Fri, Feb 25 at Soler's Sports (2589 Jackson Keller Rd.), or in HemisFair Park the morning of the event. $25 non-refundable registration fee plus a $50 fundraising minimum (cash only), 6:30am, Tower of the Americas, 600 HemisFair Park, Registration deadline is 4:30pm Wednesday.
