4000 Miles

When: Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. and Sundays, 3 p.m. Continues through June 7 2015

Amy Herzog tackles loss, relationships, and smoking pot with your grandma in 4000 Miles, her Obie Award-winning drama following a young man in search of solace and the 91-year-old spitfire that gives it to him. Playwright Herzog modeled the central characters after her own zesty grandmother and a free-spirited cousin to offer what’s been called a “heartening reminder that a keen focus on life’s small moments can pay off in a big way.” Expect to laugh, and maybe cry, too. Bill Gundry directs Christopher Boneta and Sam Carter Gilliam in the Playhouse’s production.
