A Healthy Dose of...Yoga?

Yes, Yoga! Welcome to Yoga Dose, a new SA Current Blog about all things yoga. Yoga is an ancient, holistic system of wellness that encompasses a wide range of practices, many of which (contrary to popular belief) are actually quite simple for most people to implement. You don't need to be a contortionist or spiritual guru to get something out of a yoga practice. Nor do you need to spend hours practicing every day to experience the benefits—many of the tips I'll be sharing here can actually be done in less than 5 minutes, without even leaving your desk! My intention with this blog is to provide you with practical yoga advice to help you create more health, balance, and peace in all areas of your life.

Yoga has been practiced in India for thousands of years, and there it is widely considered to be the most optimal way of maintaining health. Practicing yoga has been shown to alleviate a wide variety of symptoms and complaints, including:

  • diabetes
  • heart disease
  • asthma
  • back and neck pain
  • stress
  • arthritis
  • digestive problems
  • insomnia
  • emotional instability
  • fatigue
  • hormonal imbalance
  • immune system weakness

In this blog, I will be sharing photos, videos, and guided audio meditations, as well as holistic diet and nutrition tips, and mental tools for cultivating self-awareness. I also hope to clear up some common misconceptions about yoga (it involves much more than stretching, and no it is not a cult). So stay tuned!

I am here to serve you, so I totally appreciate any and all questions, feedback, and requests...simply leave me a comment, or drop me a line at
