Alabama to Play Majestic Theatre Next Year

  • Facebook, Alabama

Few have been game-changers like the boys in Alabama were with country music in the '70s. Founded in 1969, the band introduced a louder rock edge to country music (and pyrotechnics to their live shows), broadening the genre’s audience. I mean ... the band eventually released 21 straight #1 singles. Who even does that?

“We were renegades in sneakers and t-shirts,” said founding member Teddy Gentry in a recent press release. “We had long hair and played loud and some of the country folks resisted us for a while. But then, of course, they did accept us and after that our success made it a lot easier for other bands to try it in country music.”

If you're on the fence about country music, Alabama is a great introduction to the genre. Check out songs like "Come Find Me," "I Wanna Be There," and "Dixieland Delight," which will most likely be played when they stop at the Majestic Theatre next year.

The concert is set for on March 24 while tickets go on sale Friday, November 17 at noon.

Tickets ($69.50 - $225.00) for Alabama will be available in person at the Majestic Theatre box office, online at, or charge by phone at (800) 745-3000. All tickets subject to applicable service charges and fees.
