Amuse-BOUCHE

by

The much-anticipated Saturday-morning Pearl Farmers Marketis in development on the grounds of the old brewery, and this weekend it will be tinkering with the logistics, which means, yes, vendors will be on hand, but, no, don’t all show up and overwhelm them. The May 16 grand opening will be here before you know it, what with Fiesta inbetween. (If you must peek, I understand that the CIA-SA students will be on hand, too.) On the market’s Facebook page, you can check out pics of some of the farmers and artisans who will be participating, including Menzies Farms (goat and lamb), Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard, Braune Farms, L&M Ranch, Rhew Orchards, Spalten Honey, Al’s Gourmet Nuts (ridiculously good), and Thunder Heart Bison.

Centrally located farmers markets have struggled to find a consistent audience in San Antonio, but this latest venture will enjoy the input and presence of restaurateurs Brian and Elise Montgomery, whose Texas Farm to Table is located in the Aveda Institute building, and Le Rêve’s Andrew Weissman, who is set to open Il Sogno at Pearl late this spring. More info soon.
