Talk about area growth. Both
Dorćol Distilling Company (1902 S. Flores St.) and
Concrete Jungle at either ends of Southtown (1628 S. Presa St.) are celebrating anniversaries this month.
Over at the tiki hut known as Concrete Jungle, the party starts at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 5 with drink specials along with music by Texas T and the Sunshine Runners and King Pelican. Make sure to wear your finest coconut shells. Fill up on snacks with bites out of the Tapa Tapa Truck.
The rakia or Serbian brandy has been distilled off South Flores for two years now, and owners Boyan Kalusevic and Chris Mobley will celebrate their birthday with an exclusive shindig that will feature appetizers, drinks, hors d'oeuvres and a commemorative two-year anniversary glass from 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, December 11. Tickets for general admission are $60, while a Party Pass $110, includes all of the above and a signed bottle of Kinsman Rakia. Get your tickets through
