Critic's Pick Release Date: 2011-05-18

Bidders rely on the “touch, feel, and sense of art” at Art in the Dark, a silent auction organized by the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. Luckily, many of the one-of-a-kind creations up for grabs at this silent auction are sculptural, which will give potential buyers an advantage in trying to visualize what might be on the other side of that cloak (no peeking allowed!). After an evening of live music (provided by blind musicians from the community) and mixing and mingling with wine, hors d’oeuvres, and dessert, works donated by top-notch local artists will be revealed to their new owners. $20 (benefits San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind’s rehabilitation programs), 6:30-8:30pm, Greater San Antonio Builders Association Events Center, 3625 Paesanos Pkwy., salighthouse.org. For tickets, call (210) 531-1533.
