Blame it on the wine, but with too many quality art events scattered across town last Saturday, even we failed our proposed attack on the local art scene. This week won’t be nearly as far-fetched: Three receptions you won’t want to miss are (thankfully) taking place on three separate days. In order of appearance … Acoustic guitarist “Daydreamer” will provide a live soundtrack for Art! In The Chamber, a “fusion of artists” including work by Heather Sieloff, Seth Camm, Armon “Butch” Brown, Laurel Gibson, Sessera, Holly Hein Brooks, and Jung Hee Mun (Free, 5:30-7:30pm Wednesday, The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, 602 E. Commerce, (210) 229-2127, sachamber.org). Local art star Franco Mondini-Ruiz unveils another holy union of the classical and the kitsch with Parties and Perfume, an irreverent exhibition of sweet-smelling paintings and sculptures. Wear your favorite scent! A discriminating nose will be sniffing around the crowd. And if your body chemistry is reacting nicely with whatever you’ve doused yourself with, you might score a painting. Even the unscented don’t have to leave empty-handed — cupcakes and Prosecco will be served while supplies last (Free, 6-10pm Thursday, Galeria Ortiz Contemporary, 4026 McCullough, (210) 826-8623, galleriaortiz.com). Pop meets folklore on Saturday evening when artists Israel Rico, Diana Rocha, Leslie Rico, and Amber Gibson present Una Noche de Arte Chicano: Los Tres Eres y La Rubia. With sangria, tapas, and music by Chris Boneswald and Rhythm & Jazz Radio, we might even stay overnight (Free, but donations appreciated, 5-9pm Saturday, Fiesta Bed & Breakfast, 1823 Saunders, (210) 226-5548).
