So much art news to report, so little space — so I’ll just jump right in.

In my hand, I have the On and Off Fredericksburg Road tour catalogue for this weekend’s self-guided tour of over 20 art studios and galleries (showcasing — brace yourself now — more than 40 local artists including David Rubin, Carolina G. Flores, and Pramod Goshai) located on and off the Fredericksburg road, Vance Jackson, and Culebra area. The action begins on Friday with an autograph party at Bihl Haus Art. To see what the tour offers, grab a catalogue from the Koffee Kup to highlight which artists are up your alley.

Theater lovers unite! McNay curator for the Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts Jody Blake recently informed me about the newest addition to their special-interest groups — a theater group. So far the group has a few members, but Blake is already in the planning phase of programs for the group: monthly theater performances at the McNay and also lectures with theater professionals. We should be hearing more in the spring about the group. Blake wants to find “ways to get creative artists involved.” We’re sure the McNay won’t have too much trouble with that.
