Arts Holiday ornaments

For those who relish being out and about, here's a sampling of area events to keep you and your crew busy during the holiday season. As you bake your final pan of cookies, attend the last party, and cross Christmas Eve buys off the gift list, take some time to enjoy a drive through Santa's Ranch, 9561 I-35 North between San Marcos and New Braunfels. The drive-through Christmas-light display features 40 major scenes, including the town of Bethlehem, villages, a toy mill, and numerous cartoon characters. More than 1 million lights illuminate the one-mile drive, which took Santa and four elves about four months to prepare. The park is open every night through January 1; hours are 6-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 6-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $12 per vehicle. For more information, visit santasranch.net or call (830) 743-1293.
