When: Sun., Sept. 24, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
This program features gems by some of the Baroque era’s heavyweights. Austin Baroque Orchestra performs a partita for strings by Pachelbel (of "Canon in D" fame), along with J.S. Bach’s Concerto for Violin & Oboe featuring Concertmaster Stephanie Raby and Artistic Director Billy Traylor. Also included will be operatic excerpts from Rameau's "Naïs" and Vivaldi's recently rediscovered "Motezuma." To commemorate the 250th anniversary of Georg Philipp Telemann’s death, they will perform his rarely performed oratorio "Der Tag des Gerichts" (The Day of Judgment). Informal pre-concert talk begins 30 minutes before the concert.
