Barbara Renaud Gonzalez

Activist, author and absolute survivor, Bárbara Renaud González has been writing her own brand of witty warrior journalism since 1997. With the publication of her first book Golondrina, Why Did You Leave Me? Renaud González became the first ever Chicana to be published by UT Press. The South Texas native, whose commentaries have aired on NPR’s Morning Edition as well as Latino USA, has contributed her powerful prose to such publications as The Nation, The Progressive, and The Los Angeles Times. Her latest book, Las Nalgas de JLo (published by San Antonio’s own Aztlan Libre press) collects reviews, columns and essays that deal with culture, politics, and the strength and wonder of Latina women.
