San Antonio's Beacon Hill neighborhood has been named one of the hottest and most affordable places to live in the U.S.
Real estate website Redfin recently released a list of the
"10 Hottest Affordable Neighborhoods of 2019," which includes neighborhoods that have shown considerable popularity based on year-over-year growth. To determine affordability, Redfin took the "average home buyer" into consideration and capped median prices at $294,000.
Keep in mind that despite a climbing market, the Alamo City is still one of the most affordable big cities in the country. As such, the median sale price in Beacon Hill is $213,264, according to the
report.
A Redfin agent familiar with Beacon Hill described the neighborhood as having San Antonio's traditional charm but with a modern edge.
“Beacon Hill combines old San Antonio charm with 21st century urban living,” agent Perry Sanders said. “The architecture includes a mix of single-family homes, condominiums and townhouses. Combine that with Beacon Hill’s plentiful shops and eateries, and you quickly understand why the neighborhood has gained popularity in recent years — a trend that’s likely to continue.”
Beacon Hill was the only Texas neighborhood ranked in the top 10. Baltimore and Philadelphia each had three neighborhoods make the cut.
