Whether your taste runs to South Texas singer-songwriters or Nordic black metal, this venerable institution across the parking lot from San Antonio College has got you covered. And then some. Inside the store's cluttered confines, you'll find an uber-diverse mix of CDs, vinyl, DVDs and box sets, not to mention a surprisingly wide selection of used and rare obscurities. T-shirts dangle from nearly every available inch of rafter space. Ever since he got his start selling records at Northwest Center Flea Market, owner Dave Risher has had his ear to the ground for new underground sounds and knows his stock well enough to make solid recommendations. His staff — friendly, knowledgeable and, as a rule, heavily tattooed — has kept up that tradition, especially when it comes to local music of pretty much any genre. And if they don't have it in stock, rest assured they'll plumb the depths to track it down.
