Black Veil Brides & the Birthday Massacre

Critic's Pick Release Date: 2010-11-03

Get a little more mileage out of your spooky/slutty Halloween costume by recycling it for the Birthday Massacre’s goth dance party. Trust us, you’ll fit right in, just try not to outdo frontwoman Chibi on the spookiness or the sexiness. Despite the band’s gloom-and-doom appearance, the Birthday Massacre’s live shows are anything but a drag. Endearing and appreciative of its fans, the band infuses its dark new wave with a (dare we say) joyous energy. The latest album, Pins and Needles, caused a reviewer at the Boston Phoenix to compare the band to “Debbie Gibson sings the opening theme song from an anime cartoon about vampires,” which about sums it up for us, too. $15-$17, 7pm, White Rabbit, 2410 N St Mary’s, (210) 737-2221,
