Café News: Bird Bakery Heads to the Big D, New location for Copalli and Renovations at Barrio Barista

Bird Bakery founder/TV host/judge on Celeb Cupcake Wars Elizabeth Chambers Hammer teased via Instagram a second location for the quaint Alamo Heights operation she first opened with husband Armie Hammer in 2012. Known for its cute cupcakes, tasty tarts and decadent sandwiches, Bird Bakery will head to Dallas' Highland Park Village this November. She shared the news of the second bakery in late July on the Today Show with a pair of fun winos. You can watch that clip below.

Coppali Cafe closed its doors this weekend at its original location in Artisans' Alley as it heads north to Spring Branch. The owners of the shop announced the move in early August on Facebook.

The new location will open inside The Shops at Faithville Park, 17130 State HWY 46 in Spring Branch.
You'll have to wait until Friday to get your horchata latte fix from Barrio Barista. The West Side coffee shop known for its barbacoa grilled cheese, community-driven open mic nights and more will open Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the time being while they work on renovations. Follow them at @barriobarista for more info. 3735 Culebra Road, (210) 519-5403.
