Caged Bird Sings

Release Date: 2008-10-29
San Angel Folk Art presents a Dia de los Muertos event that features an altar in remembrance of pets, dedicated to San Angel’s green canary, Truchas, who recently passed away. The gallery is creating an outdoor ofrenda to the birds of the world, so please bring a photo of a pet that has passed that you would like to remember. Altar set-up begins on Friday, October 31. There will be live music by the women at Creative Arts Studio of San Antonio and a crafts station — bring a plain T-shirt or tote bag that you’d like to spraypaint with an original stencil from San Angel. Free, 3-5pm, San Angel Folk Art, 110 Blue Star, (210) 226-6688.
