Call for Public Action: DREAM Act Now

UTSA's DREAM Act Now! Student Organization is planning a public action to continue to urge Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison to support the DREAM Act in the upcoming lame duck session, per an e-mail blast sent by the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center. Other statewide actions are also planned.

Today marks the 15th day of an infinite hunger strike declared by 10 UTSA students who have vowed not to consume any food until Senator Hutchison announces her co-sponsorship of the DREAM Act.

Here's the information you'll need to take part in the public action:

Meet at Senator Hutchison's office on Monday, November 29th at 12pm (rally to begin at 3pm).  Her office is located at 3313 General Hudnell Drive #120, San Antonio, TX, 78226.

If you cannot attend the rally, you can also call Senator Hutchison and tell her students all over Texas are declaring an indefinite hunger strike and urge her to support and co-sponsor the DREAM Act. You do not have to provide your name or citizenship status. The phone numbers to her office are 210.340.2885 or 1.866.996.5161.

DREAM Act NOW! at UTSA is a student organization composed of immigrant youth and their allies committed to promoting the passage of the DREAM Act. For more information or for local status updates please visit: or their Facebook at DREAM Act Now! at UTSA.
