Catch Ohmme's Multi-instrumentalist, Singer-songwriter Vibes at Paper Tiger

  • Maren Celest
Chicago's Ohmme dropped its haunting and vibrant debut LP, Parts, at the tail end of August – and we already think it’s one of the best things we’ve heard this year.

Anchored by multi-instrumentalists/singer-songwriters Macie Stewart and Sims Cunningham, two young but experienced players in the Windy City’s music scene, Ohmme makes approachably avant-garde indie-rock music with elements of folk, jazz, noise, blues and pop. The band’s unique and penetrating sound is intricate but not complicated, emotive but not melodramatic, smart but not academic. We can’t wait to hear what this group sounds like in the live setting, where its members cut their teeth and made an early name for themselves. Preview the band’s songs at

$10-$12, Sat Sept 8, 10pm, Paper Tiger, 2410 N. St. Mary’s St.,
