Charles Barkley Says He Actually Loves San Antonio

While it could have easily been an April Fool's joke, Charles Barkley was caught on camera saying that he loves San Antonio.

In case you don't know the story, Barkley has a habit of throwing serious shade at San Antonio, specifically its women and the River Walk. He didn't hold back, saying SA is home to some "biiiiig" women and calling the prized tourist spot a "dirty creek."

But he said he was joking and wouldn't apologize for his comments.

Some San Antonio women responded to his comments, while former Mayor Julian Castro has been defending SA for years.

More recently current Mayor Ron Nirenberg caught up with the basketball-star-turned-analyst during the Final Four festivities to set the record straight.
"I know y'all get all sensitive and bent out of shape when I'm making fun of San Antonio," Barkley said while flailing his arms. "I really love your city."

He didn't stop there.

"I think the Spurs are the best organization in sports," Barkley said.

He also gave a shoutout to the city's tricentennial.

"I just want to congratulate you," Barkley said. "You're 300 years old."

Okay, so maybe we can forgive and forget, after all. We're glad you came around, Chuck!
