Bio: Lourdes Galvan won the D5 seat in 2007 in a tight race against David Medina, and then, in 2009, narrowly lost it. Feeling it’ll be just as close this time around, Galvan and Councilman Medina are up for a third rematch. Galvan, who worked as the office manager for former Councilwoman Patti Radle, was the first woman president of the Kelly AFB employee union and also served as director for a local LULAC chapter. Galvan is also the executive director of the West San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

Bio: David Medina won the D5 race in 2009 at the age of 23, making him the youngest ever elected to council. Medina now faces off against Lourdes Galvan for the third time this year. Medina served on the Palm Heights neighborhood association for 3 years as President, VP, and Board Member. He’s currently a Project Manager with a local construction company.

Bio: Andro Mendoza, a Navy vet and local respiratory therapist, is a relative newcomer, having run once in the past for an SAISD board position. Mendoza is a marketing instructor at Northwest Vista College and the principal at i2M1, a strategy and marketing consultancy organization.
