Bio: Rodriguez, who has a PhD in early childhood education from UT Austin, was founder and former president and CEO of AVANCE, a nationally-recognized parenting program in the Mirasol housing project. In 2006, Rodriguez received a lifetime achievement award from the National Hispanic Leadership Institute, and is the author of “Raising Nuestos Ni├▒os.”
