Creatures of Near Kingdoms - Malaysian Micro-Fiction and Linocuts

When: Sat., Dec. 8, 7-10 p.m.

Creatures of Near Kingdoms is 75 pieces of micro-fiction by writer Zedeck Siew and visual artist Sharon Chin. Over the past four years, Sharon and Zedeck explored their home of Port Dickson, Malaysia; cataloguing the local flora and fauna into a fantastical bestiary. Although the creatures may seem like elaborate fairy tales, they are cleverly enmeshed with the current problems, politics and trends of the region making the fantastic, almost comfortably familiar.
