Following a dramatic season filled with rumors about Leonard's injury and whether he would choose to stay with the Spurs or move on to another team, much remains up in the air this offseason. Leonard last suited up in January after playing only nine games due to a devastating injury (thanks, Zaza Pachulia). Fans took it as a final blow when Leonard didn't even sit on the bench during the team's short run in the playoffs.
Now Spurs supporters can breathe a bit. Green said that Leonard verbally told him that he wants to stay in San Antonio.
Green said he checks in on Leonard to see how he's doing. He gave a recap of Leonard's season, citing the importance of getting a second opinion and stressing how the Spurs superstar wasn't ready to return to the court. Apparently, that doesn't mean anything personal for the Spurs.
"He's let me know verbally that he wanted to be there," Green said.
