- Facebook, Death Grips
The hype surrounding experimental hardcore rap trio Death Grips, especially in the early 2010s made the band super suspect to me. And while they aren’t the first to make noisy hip-hop ever (see artists like Moodie Black, B_L_A_C_K_I_E, and CLPPNG) the energy of their live show and their punk rock sensibilities garnered enough attention for them to get signed and kicked off a major label (Epic Records).
While there have been issues with one of the members not showing up to gigs, and then breaking up a few times, this sort of punk-rock notoriety seems to add to their legend.
If you dig hardcore, hardcore rap, experimental noise and avant garde musical experiences, Death Grips is probably right up your alley.
