BEAT AIDS is a local organization that promises to “stand with this community, serving one person at a time, one family at a time … until there’s a cure.” This Saturday, BEAT AIDS will host its 8th Annual Disco Ball ? a shimmering dinner gala and retro extravaganza with the theme “Turn the Beat Around.” The Bonham Exchange is the perfect spot to rewind to an era when looking fabulous was all you had to worry about, and Liza and Halston appeared around every dusty, mirrored corner. $20 will get you in the door for a lavish dinner, outrageous show, and dancing till 2 a.m. If you still fit into those elephant-ear bell bottoms, (kudos, and) get ’em on, girl: The costume contest is sure to be the icing on this fruity cake. And if your wallet doesn’t fit snugly into that hip-hugging pantsuit, consider lightening your load by shelling out $300 to become a VIP sponsor? you’ll be treated like a(n even bigger) queen at your very own table (surrounded by your court, of course).
