Solar San Antonio presents Alice Klein’s crunchy documentary about a motley crew of eco-radicals who’ve relocated to central Brazil to begin preparing for December 21, 2012 — the end of the Mayan calendar. Over 13 days, this intentional community (which includes Rastafarians, Hare Krishnas, and alternative-health practitioners) hopes to make Earth a better place to live — or maybe leave behind. Concepts such as “spiritualizing the political” and “politicizing the spiritual” come into play as the cast of `what Klein describes as` “Survivor for social change addicts” prepare themselves for the end of the world, or perhaps “the start of a brand new beginning.”
