When: Sat., Jan. 7, 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 2017
Blue Star Contemporary welcomes young artists for workshops and teen and adult burgeoning artists for craft talks. For the first workshop, kids will take a quick tour of the "Hold Still" exhibition with the artist Robert Langham III and build and photograph their own still lifes out of styrofoam, plastic tableware, tape, and other everyday materials. Participants are welcome to bring their own items from home to construct their still lifes. For the second workshop, kids will work with Casey James Wilson and learn to make a preplanned composition that creates flattened spatial relationships. Two craft talks with the artists for teens and adults will follow. Participants must register to reserve their spot by emailing email@example.com. Space is limited. These education programs are free and open to the public.
