Food, sensuality, and film. They all come together in the San Antonio Museum of Art's Cinecultural 2004, a film festival celebrating food and the "sensual art of cooking." Refreshments from local restaurants complement the films. The festival opens with Eat, Drink, Man, Woman, on February 26, with edibles by Lan's Indochine Restaurant. Other film and food pairings chronologically follow: Mostly Martha, with gourmet finger foods by Page Barteau; Vatel, served with delights from Bistro Vatel; and Woman on Top, with delectables from Barteau. The festival is being held in conjunction with the Food for Thought exhibit, opening February 27.

Soul Food Fest
The Culinary Academy is at it again, this time churning out soul food favorites as part of its Black History Month celebration. The lunchtime event will feature smoked hot links, Southern-fried catfish, chitterlings, corn muffins, mixed greens, red beans and rice, smoked pork ribs, sweet potato pie, and, surprisingly, red Kool-Aid. "Everyone asks for it every year," explains St. Philip's Chef Instructor Will Thornton. About 300 people showed up for last year's event, and the food ran out within 45 minutes - so go early if you'd like a taste. The proceeds from the event benefit the Culinary Arts Program.
