SPONSORED -- The event is a highly spirited canoe competition started back in 1969 to help Scouts understand teamwork. Since the late 1980’s it opened to the public and is a chance for approximately 100 two-person teams to compete in timed heats. Participation is open to the public, local celebrities, city officials, corporations and Boy & Girl Scouts. This is the only time the city allows canoes in the downtown River Walk area.
