When: Fri., June 16, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 2017
Each Friday this summer, the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures will offer museum guests an opportunity to get hands-on with the ancient craft of weaving. Museum docent Hannah Margolis will lead the classes and guests will have the opportunity to weave on an antique loom, learn how to build a small craft loom and weave their own take-home woven bracelet or necklace. This introductory workshop is ideal for children and families or anyone interested in weaving. Located at the ITC Spinning and Weaving exhibit, this workshop emphasizes the importance and reliance on spinning fibers into threads and weaving clothing during Texan Frontier times.
